Although many houses in Cape Coral are located alongside a canal, the number of houses enjoying quick and direct boat access to open water and the Gulf of Mexico is restricted. From the dock of Villa Sunset Delight you can reach open water in the Caloosahatchee River within 15 minutes by boat. From there it is about another 15 minutes into the Gulf. If you plan to rent a boat or even bring your own boat, you should consider the location of the house when making your decision. As the speed inside the canals is limited to idle, depending on the location of the house it might easily take up to one hour to even reach open water in the Caloosahatchee River (and the same on the way home). If you are interested in renting a boat we will gladly provide you with the contact details of a local boat rental company (delivery of the boat directly to the dock available). A Captain's license is not required. Instruction will be given by the boat rental company.
